KLAUS A. BECKER
Raised in Germany, where he studied piano, organ, and conducting, KLAUS A. BECKER has performed concerts worldwide. Prizes in the “Jugend musiziert” competitions provided scholarships to attend graduate conservatories in Germany, where he studied piano with Ludwig Hoffman, Friedrich Gulda, and Claudio Arrau, and organ with Leo Kramer, Franz Lehrndorfer, and Heinz Umlauff. Invitations to perform during the early years of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival brought him in contact with Leonard Bernstein, whose musical ideals he continues to adhere to. Also a scientist, Klaus incorporates themes of advancing science through music performance. From his perspective of music as the image of nature, concerts by Klaus Becker present new insights into the music of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Listz, and Reger. www.klausabecker.com
